Accommodations

Ronald McDonald House at Stanford has a total of 47 guestrooms with private baths. The House features two isolated "Immune Wings": The Garden Immune Wing for children after they have received bone-marrow transplants; and the Maya Immune Wing for young heart and lung transplant recipients.

Requirements
There are four requirements to be eligible for a room at the House:
      1.  The child/patient must be receiving in-patient or out-patient treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) or Stanford Hospital and Clinics.
    2.  The child/patient must be 18 years or younger, though children who have stayed at the House prior to their 18th birthday are able to use our facilities until they reach age 21.
    3.  The family must live at least 50 miles away from the House. The distance requirement can be modified under certain conditions.
    4.  A pregnant woman who needs to be near LPCH because her baby will need urgent surgery at birth may also stay at the House.

Please note that the House is unable to confirm accommodations until 3-4 business days prior to arrival.

Cost
The House requests $10 per night from each family, though no family is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Third party payments are accepted.

Transportation
The hospital provides routine shuttle service to and from the House every day. There are some stores and amenities within walking distance, most notably Stanford Shopping Center. Additionally, the House makes weekly, scheduled trips to Safeway and Walmart. There is also nearby public transportation.
